Answer is yes and she isn't misleading her fans. Hashimoto's disease is a genetic problem that tend to destroy the thyroid gland. Generally, this problem attacks at older age but it can happen at any age.

While Gigi Hadid and her fans may find it difficult to understand how Hyshomoto's disease is causing her lose weight, it is nothing unusual.

Hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's disease weakens thyroid gland and disallows it from producing right amount of thyroid hormones which are required for proper brain functioning, heart functioning and hormonal balance.

Other than Gigi Hadid, another popular face suffering from Hypothyroidism is Hillary Clinton. During the elections, people heard many reports of her struggling to stand, and facing fatigues. It was nothing but the ill-effects of Hashimoto's disease.

There are two major remedies often offered by doctors for helping patients suffering from hypothyroidism. One is armour-dessicated thyroid which is derived from pigs. It is natural and more effective because it helps in replacing both T3 and T4 thyroid hormones.

The other remedy is Synthroid. it is man-made and while it helps properly, it can replace only the T4 hormones. Hillary Clinton, according to sources, is taking armour-dessicated thyroid. However, doctors often suggest Synthroid.

It should be noted that Hypothyroid often leads to weight gain. Yet, Gigi Haddid, despite suffering from Hashimoto's disease is facing weight loss. Why?

Even with the help of Syntrhoid or armour-dessicated thyroid, maintaining proper balance of thyroid hormones isn't easy.

Even a minute disturbance in daily diets can fluctuate thyroid levels abruptly and may result in changing of hypothyroid to hyperthyroid. Hypothyroid is situation when a patient suffers lower thyroid which causes weight gain. Hyperthyroid, being opposite means higher levels of thyroid in blood and it causes abrupt weight loss along with higher heartbeat rates.

She added, "A lot of the world feels so entitled to other peoples' lives, which is so crazy. I'm going to take a break when I feel like it, and when I come back and share it with you, if you want to be supportive and still follow me, that's great. But, if you're going to be upset that I need to be human for a month, than maybe I don't want your follow anyway."
